Concentration

Concentrating is key to magik, magik is bringing thought form into existence on the physical plane, i.e. making your thoughts happen here. So you have to be able to concentrate on what you want to happen and not let other thoughts interfere. Otherwise, your energy can be misdirected and other outcomes and results may occur and my interfere with your intended purpose.

Exercise 1 Flame Visualization

Take a Candle and light it, sit down in a comfortable position and look at the flame. (It is easier on the eyes to look at the blue around the lower part of the wick instead of the bright upper flame.) Remember to keep blinking so that you don't ruin your eyes. After a few minutes close your eyes and look for the flame. You will see it against your closed eyelids. Keep your thoughts on the flame image, and see how long you can maintain the picture before your thoughts begins to interfere.

Repeat this until you feel you have made significant progress, and then take a break and relax.

It is sometimes easier to sit down and clear your head of all those thoughts that have been plaguing you about your day and other things going on in your life before this exercise, if you meditate, then meditating can help prepare you for this exercise.

Exercise 2 Visualize a Picture

This is basically the same exercise as number one except you are using a picture instead of a flame. Choose a picture you like, some people like to use tarot cards for this its your own choice. Stand or hang the picture at a comfortable level and look at it for sometime. Close your eyes and see if you can see a mental picture of the picture, against your eyelids or in your head. Hold the image for as long as you can and then repeat.

You can change the picture after awhile and try this exercise again with the new picture, that way you can train your mind to visualize at a better rate faster, if you use the same picture all the time you are just training to that picture and not actual visualization of other things.

Again meditating and clearing your mind of daily thoughts and worries about your life will help you with this and most concentrating exersices.
